We manufacture self lubricated high performance RYDON PTFE Structural load bearings such as Slide bearings, Support bearings, Expansion plates, Skidway plates and other related products and services. Our bearings are designed to accommodate unidirectional and omni directional sliding movement in a single plane and to a limited angular misalignment caused by the thermal expansion, Seismic or differential forces encountered by high winds.
PTFE slide bearings are superior to conventional expansion plates, rollers and rocker arm type supports in many ways.

ADVANTAGES OF RYDON SLIDE BEARINGS
A. Low friction and no stick slip action
B. Less bulky than alternative assemblies
C. Minimize transmission of seismic forces
D. Easy to install, either pre-assemblies or onsite
E. All-weather capability indefinite life
F. No lubrication no maintanance
G. Vibrations are damped
H. Simplicity and flexibility of design
I. Self aligning
J. No fatigue failure
K. Abrasion resistant
L. Uniform load distribution
CHOICE OF BEARING MATERIALS
PTFE is used as a prime bearing materials for its exceptional all-round
qualities.
We provide the following varieties in PTFE formulations to the choice
of the design engineer.
I. PTFE 100% virgin (not reprocessed) - For bearing pressure upto 70
kg /cm
II. PTFE 100% virgin Dimpled - For bearing pressure upto 70 kg /cm
III. *TURCITE B (Bronze with spl additives) or RYDITE
- For bearing pressure upto 140 kg /cm
IV. *FLUORINOID OR *FLUOROGOLD (glass with spl additives) or RYDOGOLD
- For bearing pressure upto 140kg /cm
V. Alternate self lubricating materials to the choice of design requirements
TURCITE is trademark of TRELLEBORG SEALING SOLUTIONS AB -BUSAK + SHAMBAN
FLUORINOID is trademark of FLUOROCARBON CO LTD – UK
FLUOROGOLD is trademark of SAINTGOBAIN PERFORMANCE PLASTICS
THE SLIDE BEARINGS
RYDON SLIDE consists of a load carrying pad in sliding contact with a fixed pad. The load pad is attached to the upper (sole) plate which is the sliding part of the structure and the fixed pad to the lower baking plate or foundation member. These plates are available in set of PTFE / PTFE and SS/PTFE combinations for unguided or guided designs in case of EXPANSION PLATE BEARINGS / SUPPORT BEARINGS BS5400 Sec 9.1 procedures will be followed for the Design, Materials selection, Manufacturing, Testing and inspection of the Expansion plates.
SOLE PLATE
The upper plate is carbon steel of 3 mm thickness which retains either
a PTFE bearing pad of 2.5mm thickness or 3mm stainless steel AISI 304
bright annealed finish flat and mirror polished to surface roughness
Ra. 0.15. To ensure SS sheet Remaining flat on the plate full area bonding
supplemented with fasteners are also provided. The sole plate should
always be larger than the bottoms fixed plate and or can be supplied
either square or rectangular to cater for co-ordinate direction movement.
Alternate thickness is available in sole plate.
LOWER FIXED PLATE
2.5mm thick PTFE pad is either directly bonded to a 3 mm thickness lower
backing plate or 6mm PTFE pad is recess boned to a 10 mm backing plate.
Alternative thickness of steel material is available. Wherever possible
some sources form of seal will be provided to prevent the PTFE from
contaminations which will drastically reduce bearings life. Dimpled
PTFE is used to retain additional lubrication.
SKIDWAY PLATES
We offer RYDON skidway plates to suit the customer
requirements. A Typical skidway plate comprises of 2.5mm PTFE hot bonded
to a 3mm carbon steel plate with a 22mm welding lip, For onsite tackwelding.
All exposed metallic surfaces should be protected against corrosion.
Skidway plates are used many construction yards throughout world to
assist in skidding jackets, Desks, and Bridges. Heavy structure weighing
several tons can be loaded over these plates.
TYPICAL APPLICATIONS

Expansion bearings have been successfully used to support buildings, Bridges, and heavy industrial equipments.
The followings are the typical applications of the slide bearings:
1. Pipeline constructions - Pipe supports
2. Steel and concrete buildings
3. Bridges and highway construction
4. Offshore drilling rigs
5. Transmission towers.
6. Industrial
Pressure and storage vessels - Boilers
Heat exchangers
Dust collectors - Electro Static Precipitator
Heavy machinery
Petrochemical plants
